Curriculum Vitae

Claudio Ioriatti holds a PhD in “Protection and Quality of Agro-Food Production” at the Molise University, a master in phytopathology at the Bologna University and a degree in Agricultural Sciences at Padova University.

As Head of Agrofood Chain Department at the Technology Transfer Center of the Fondazione Edmund Mach (FEM) he is coordinating the advisory service operating in the fruit and grape production systems in the Trento province.

He is also senior scientist at FEM, lecturer (entomology) at the University of Trento and he has been recently appointed by the Italian Minister of Agriculture as expert member in the advisory technical committee acting within the pesticide registration process.

Expert in the IPM of apple and grape, his research, past and present, concerns the development of new strategies for the integrated fruit and grape production, pesticide efficacy, application timing, insecticide resistance management, biological control of mites, implementation of mating disruption technique and other semiochemicals based tools.

He published more than 50 papers in international peer review journals, integrated with an intensive dissemination activity with more than 200 publications (scientific papers, popular articles, book chapters, conferences communications).

He is fellow of the Accademia dei Georgofili (2009) and honored of the National Full-professorship in Entomology (2014); his internationally-based research is recognized by IOBC convenorship of the working group “Integrated Protection of Fruit Crops” (2008) and by the USDA Certificate of Appreciation as member of the TWG for the EGVM program (2011).
