TITLE: Integrated management of fungal trunk diseases of grapevine

SPEAKER: David Gramaje, Institute of Grapevine and Wine Sciences (ICVV)

David Gramaje is a Research Scientist at the Institute of Grapevine and Wine Sciences (ICVV) in Logroño (La Rioja, Spain). Since 2015, David is the head of the research group BIOTIVIS at the ICVV. He was a visiting fellow at Stellenbosch University (South Africa), Lincoln University (New Zealand) and the South Australian Research and Development Institute (Australia) (2008-2010), a Fulbright fellow at Cornell University (USA) in 2016, and a 'José Castillejo' fellow at INRAE Bordeaux (France) in 2019 and at Mendel University in Brno (Czech Republic) in 2022. His main research interest focuses on the application of next-generation sequencing technology to explore the soil and grapevine microbiome and its interaction with fungal trunk pathogens. David is also actively involved in the development and implementation of integrated management strategies of grapevine trunk diseases in nurseries and vineyards. He has published over 100 peer-review scientific manuscripts in high impact factor journals, several book chapters, monographs, and industry articles. He is currently leading national and international projects on grapevine trunk disease research.
