Invitation to young scientists with innovative ideas
The Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) at the Edmund Mach Foundation (FEM) can be the host organization of your 2015 ERC-starting grant and Consolidator Grant application.
FEM is a research institution established by the government of the Autonomous Province of Trento (PAT). It is located in Trentino, in the northern part of Italy, and hosts 320 researchers and technicians (1/4 of them are foreigners), a PhD school with more than 100 PhDs, and carries out studies in the agricultural, environmental and nutritional areas. FEM is ranking #1 in Chemistry, #1 in Agriculture, and #4 in Biology among Italian Research Institutions: (source: ANVUR - National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research Systems- 2013).
The European Research Council (ERC) provides support for ground-breaking research in any scientific domain. The ERC Starting Grants will support early-career top researchers to set up an independent research team or program. Researchers with 2-7 (ERC StG) years of experience since completion of their PhD are eligible to apply before 03/02/2015, and Researchers with 7-12 (ERC CoG) are eligible to apply before 12/03/2015.
Outstanding young researchers of any nationality are invited to express their interest in developing ERC-Starting Grants at CRI-FEM in the scientific areas of interest for FEM
Technical and administrative pre-award support may be provided to applicants. Successful ERC applicants will benefit from a best-class working environment, and from the access to state-of-the-art technologies and expertise. FEM is striving to grow and consolidate its position at the national and EU level, thus offering an ideal place for scientists to develop their career.
The natural landscape of the Trentino region is of outstanding beauty. The surrounding Dolomites and the Garda Lake offer the possibility of seasonal sports and leisure.
In Trentino the quality of life, security and social cohesion make it possible to live well and do well. This is confirmed by the annual national quality of life classification where Trentino ranks always in first places.
Candidates matching excellence requisites established by ERC can send Expressions of Interest (EoI) to firstname.lastname@example.org together with a short résumé (200 words and a list of publications) and a summary of the research idea (max 1,000 words).
